Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 lb. confectioner’s sugar
  • 2 T. milk (additional 1-2 T. for chocolate frosting)
  • 3/4 c. cocoa (for chocolate frosting)

Vanilla Frosting

  1. Cream butter and shortening.
  2. Add vanilla.
  3. Gradually add sugar.
  4. Beat at medium speed
  5. Add milk until light and fluffy. Do not overbeat.

Chocolate Frosting

To make chocolate frosting, add  3/4 c. cocoa powder and an additional 1-2 T. milk
